1. Select appropriate site and warehouse

(1) The steel pipe storage site or warehouse shall be located in a clean place with unobstructed drainage, away from factories and mines that produce harmful gas or dust. Weeds and all sundries shall be removed from the site, and steel pipes shall be kept clean;

(2) It is not allowed to stack together with acid, alkali, salt, cement and other materials corrosive to steel pipes in the warehouse. Different types of steel pipes shall be stacked separately to prevent mixing and contact corrosion;

(3) Large section steel, rails, steel plates, large diameter steel pipes, forgings, etc. can be stacked in the open air;

(4) Small and medium-sized section steel, wire rod, steel bar, medium diameter steel pipe, steel wire and steel wire rope can be stored in a well ventilated shed, but must be covered on the top and padded on the bottom;

(5) Some small steel pipes, thin steel plates, steel strips, silicon steel sheets, small diameter or thin wall steel pipes, various cold rolled and cold drawn steel pipes, and metal products with high price and easy corrosion can be stored in the warehouse;

(6) The warehouse shall be selected according to the astronomical conditions. Generally, the common closed warehouse is used, that is, the warehouse with a roof, walls, tight doors and windows, and ventilation devices;

(7) The warehouse begged to pay attention to ventilation in sunny days, and to close and damp proof in rainy days, and always adhere to a suitable storage environment

2. Reasonably stack and place first

(1) The yardstick of stacking is to stack according to the type and specification under the condition of stable stacking and guarantee. Materials of different varieties should be stacked separately to prevent mixing and mutual corrosion;

(2) Prevent items that are corrosive to steel pipes from being stored near the stack;

(3) The bottom of the stack shall be padded up, firm and flat to prevent the materials from being damped or deformed;

(4) The same kind of materials shall be stacked separately according to the warehousing sequence, so as to facilitate the implementation of the first departure guideline;

(5) For the section steel stacked in the open air, there must be a wooden pad or strip stone below. The stack surface is slightly inclined to facilitate drainage, and the materials should be placed straightly to prevent bending and deformation;

(6) The stacking height shall not exceed 1.2m for manual operation, 1.5m for mechanical operation, and 2.5m for stacking width;

(7) There should be a corresponding passage between stacks. The inspection path is generally 0.5 m, and the access path is generally 1.5~2 m depending on the size of materials and transport machinery;

(8) The bottom of the pile shall be padded up. If the warehouse is in the cement air of Chaoyang, it can be padded up by 0.1m; If it is muddy ground, it must be padded up by 0.2~0.5m. If it is an open field, cement shall be raised by 0.3~0.5 m in the air, and sand and mud shall be raised by 0.5~0.7 m

(9) The angle steel and channel steel stacked in the open air shall be laid down, that is, the mouth shall face down, the I-beam shall be placed vertically, and the I groove surface of the steel pipe shall not face up, so as to avoid water accumulation and rust

3. Packaging and maintenance layer of maintenance materials

The anti-corrosion agent or other plating and packaging applied by the steel factory before leaving the factory is an important measure to prevent material corrosion. Pay attention to maintenance during transportation, loading and unloading, and do not damage it. The storage period of materials can be extended

4. Adhere to warehouse cleaning and strengthen material maintenance

(1) Before warehousing, materials shall be carefully protected from rain or impurities. Materials that have been exposed to rain or polluted shall be cleaned by different methods according to their properties, such as steel wire brush for high hardness, cloth, cotton, etc. for low hardness;

(2) The materials shall be checked frequently after warehousing. If there is rust, the rust layer shall be removed;

(3) After the surface of ordinary steel pipes is cleaned, no oil is needed, but for good steel, alloy steel sheet, thin-walled pipe, alloy steel pipe, etc., after rust removal, their internal and external surfaces need to be coated with antirust oil before storage;

(4) The seriously rusted steel pipes should not be kept for a long time after rust removal and should be used as soon as possible.
